EVERY CHILD HAS THE RIGHT TO PLAY

We want every child to enjoy this right, regardless of their circumstances" says Chris, Communications Manager at IKEA Foundation.

The IKEA Foundation is funding the I Play, I Learn and I'm Safe programme over three years. Save the Children's programme aims to prevent unsafe migration of children in Ethiopia and Bangladesh by promoting protection, education and play for children that are on the move within their own country.

The IKEA Foundation is granting Є45 million to six partners, among them Save the Children. Through its Let's Play for Change campaign, the IKEA Foundation wants to engage staff and customers, and increase their awareness of the importance of playing and of the fact that not all children have this opportunity.

"Our objectives with the campaign are dual: with the help from our partners we want to create safe environments for children and help children fulfil their right to play. We also want to communicate to all staff and all our customers that children have this right, and why," says Chris.

BUILDING SUPPORT AND AWARENESS

The IKEA Foundation is committed to help children living in the poorest areas of the world. It is working towards four overarching goals: A safe place called home, a healthy start in life, a quality education and a sustainable family income.

"The IKEA Foundation's strategy is to have partners that help us progress in our chosen areas. We have partnerships with both large and smaller NGOs, and in regards of children's rights expertise and global reach, Save the Children is an important organisation to partner up with," added Chris.

"Save the Children is doing wonderful work. People trust Save the Children. With their global reach we are able to make a difference for children regardless of where in the world they live."
